Flavor, Family, & Fire
Founder David Hankley grew up in a household where plants, peppers, and cooking were more than hobbies — they were simply part of everyday family life. He watched his mother care for house plants, experiment with recipes in the kitchen, and prepare soups and meals while working in local restaurants.
That environment became the foundation for a lifelong passion.
Over the past decade, David developed a deep interest in growing indoor plants, especially peppers. What began as simple curiosity quickly evolved into a serious hobby and creative outlet. He immersed himself in research, articles, pepper-growing communities, and groups of fellow indoor horticulture enthusiasts, constantly learning about new pepper varieties, growing techniques, and flavor profiles.
When David’s mother passed away six years ago, he felt inspired to honor her memory in a way that reflected both her creativity in the kitchen and their shared love of plants and flavor. From that inspiration, the idea for Hot House Peppers was born — handcrafted hot sauces made from peppers he grows and carefully selects himself.
Each year, David experiments with more than 35 pepper varieties, creating and refining unique small-batch recipes until each sauce delivers a memorable balance of heat and flavor. Some are intensely spicy, while others lean smoky, fruity, citrusy, tangy, earthy, or savory. Every recipe is part of an ongoing process of experimentation, refinement, and passion for creating sauces that stand apart from the ordinary.
Hot House Peppers is more than just hot sauce. It is a tribute to family, creativity, and the joy of growing and sharing something made with care.
Thank you for supporting a small family-inspired business and for being part of the journey. Every bottle purchased helps continue the passion, creativity, and legacy that inspired Hot House Peppers from the very beginning.
